BLISTERS

Use

Medication blisters are used for tablet packaging and are usually made of PVC coupled with other materials, such as aluminum.

Advantages

PVC is specifically adequate because it easily forms cradles, is highly transparent, has good impermeability to gases and it is easily sealed to other materials. Poly-Vinylidene Dichloride (PVDC) coated PVC can also be used when gas barrier quality requirements are more demanding.

Manufacturing Process

Blisters used in medication packaging are manufactured by calendering.
