Use

Lateral protection bars in inflatable boats use semi-rigid PVC. Inflatable boats are made of flexible PVC laminates. Upholstery of more sophisticated boats employ PVC laminates for coating.

Advantages

PVC is frequently used in this kind of application, mainly due to its excellent  resistance to difficult conditions found in marine environments, good abrasion resistance and its mechanical properties.

Manufacturing process

The process consists of the profile extrusion used for protection on the boat sides. For the inflatable boats, flexible PVC laminates are used, manufactured by flat-die extrusion. Upholstery coatings are manufactured by spread coating.
